As a result of systematic strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, 42.74% of Russia’s total designed oil refining capacity has been disabled.
This was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
How Ukraine’s Strikes Changed the Situation with Russian Oil
According to military command, in the last month alone, Ukrainian units successfully attacked eight Russian oil refineries. The General Staff added that Ukrainian forces destroyed or severely damaged over 60 Russian storage tanks. The majority of these contained finished fuel, while the rest held crude oil.
These strikes have inflicted enormous financial losses on Russia. Over the year, Russia’s oil industry has been depleted by $13.5 billion. Among the main consequences of the Defense Forces’ successful campaign, the department cites a fuel crisis in the Russian Federation and a reduction in raw material extraction.
Furthermore, due to a lack of necessary spare parts and equipment, repair timelines for damaged facilities in Russia are constantly being postponed.
