If North Korean missile launchers are deployed on Russian territory, Ukraine will immediately attack them. According to Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, they will automatically become legitimate military targets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Any North Korean missile launchers positioned in Russia for attacks on Ukraine will be promptly targeted by the Defense Forces. They will immediately become legitimate objectives for the AFU.
This was stated by the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiga, at a press conference in Kyiv on August 5.

“First and foremost, these launchers, if deployed, must be destroyed. And they immediately become a legitimate military target, thus eliciting a response from our military,” declared the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The head of the MFA confirmed that Kyiv is closely monitoring the deepening military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang. He noted that such allied activity poses a direct threat not only to Eastern Europe but also to the Indo-Pacific region.
“And we are in contact with our allies here, such as Japan and South Korea, for whom this interaction creates real risks,” Sybiga emphasized.
Sybiga urged the global community to take more stringent measures: significantly strengthening sanctions, further isolating Pyongyang internationally, and consolidating joint efforts to halt Russian aggression.
DPRK Missile Unit Deployed in Russia for Attacks on Ukraine
As a reminder, the deployment of a North Korean missile unit, numbering around 90 individuals, has begun in western Russia. This unit is intended to be stationed in the Voronezh region within the structure of the 112th Missile Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.
According to Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Pyongyang has already supplied a new batch of 40 KN-23 and KN-24 type missiles along with personnel. In total, the Kremlin expects the deployment of six launchers and 120 ballistic missiles.
The final details regarding the unit’s configuration will be agreed upon during negotiations in September, while the precise tasks for the North Korean military personnel remain unknown for now. Additionally, approximately 9,500 North Korean soldiers are located in the border region of Kursk Oblast, though they are not currently directly involved in the war.
