The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a mechanism for the gratuitous transfer of specific samples of destroyed Russian military equipment to museums in foreign countries. Specifically, museums in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, and the Netherlands will receive samples of captured T-72 tanks for exhibition purposes.
As Ukrinform reports, this was announced by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, citing the Cabinet of Ministers.
“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has supported the establishment of a mechanism for the transfer of specific samples of destroyed Russian equipment to museums of foreign states. This concerns captured military equipment seized or obtained during the repulsion and deterrence of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. It will be transferred free of charge for use as museum exhibits or for organizing exhibitions. The decision was made at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine,” the statement reads.
As noted by the defense department, the transfer of destroyed samples of captured equipment to foreign museums will contribute to the international documentation of the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine. In particular, museums in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, and the Netherlands will receive samples of captured T-72 tanks to organize exhibitions. The enemy equipment has lost its combat capabilities, does not contain explosive elements, and can be displayed to visitors abroad.
“Such exhibitions abroad will help convey objective information about the course of Ukraine’s struggle for independence and demonstrate real evidence of the war to the international community,” the Ministry of Defense emphasized.

Furthermore, the implementation of the project will foster the development of cultural diplomacy and strengthen cooperation with foreign museum institutions.
The Ministry of Defense, along with other government bodies, is intensifying efforts to inform about the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, as well as working to preserve international support for Ukraine and consolidate the efforts of partner states to restore Ukraine’s territorial integrity and achieve comprehensive, just, and lasting peace.
As Ukrinform reported, in July, the losses of Russian troops in terms of personnel reached 42,860, marking the highest figure since January 2025.
