The boyfriend of actress and former partner of Wladimir Klitschko, Brian Hickerson, attempted to save her with an overdose medication when he found her unconscious in a rented accommodation. This was revealed by his brother, Zack Hickerson, shedding new light on the tragic day the star passed away.
Zack Hickerson shared details with TMZ about what transpired in the rented house in Greenville, South Carolina. According to him, on the morning of August 16th, he returned from church and tried to contact the couple about having lunch together. Not receiving a response, he drove to their rented apartment and knocked on the door, waking Brian.
Upon entering, they discovered Hayden was unresponsive. Zack immediately called 911, while Brian administered “Narcan” (a nasal spray used to counteract the effects of opioids in case of overdose) to her. Before paramedics arrived, the brothers performed CPR on the actress together, guided by the emergency operator.

The fact that the couple had “Narcan” with them suggests they either brought it with them or acquired it immediately upon arriving in South Carolina, indicating a prolonged struggle with addiction. It was previously reported that during the filming of one of her last movies, Panettiere also experienced severe sobriety issues, and her team considered involuntary intervention.
In his statement, Zack urged the press and the public to stop speculating and spreading rumors surrounding the actress’s death.
“There are too many assumptions and accusations swirling around right now. The truth will come out when law enforcement concludes their investigation and releases the details. The people who loved and adored Hayden deserve the truth, and her loved ones deserve the chance to grieve without unnecessary noise and chaos,” he said.
The official cause of death for the 36-year-old Hayden Panettiere remains undetermined pending the results of toxicology tests, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has been involved in investigating the circumstances of the tragedy.
