The Kremlin has voiced a new vision of “peace,” but this vision includes demands and ultimatums.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov defiantly continues to insist on the diplomatic achievement of the goals of the “SMO” (special military operation), which the Kremlin supposedly seeks.

This is stated in his column for Politico Europe, which the publication decided not to publish, but it was released by Russian media.

Lavrov once again deceitfully spoke of “peace through diplomacy” and expressed concerns about alleged threats to Russia, the aggressor, on its “western borders.”

According to him, the Kremlin “prefers that the goals of the SMO be achieved through diplomacy.” However, at the same time, he also reiterated Moscow’s long-standing demands, repeating claims about the “inalienable right of compatriots to their native Russian language and Orthodox faith.”

Recall, Kremlin representative for economic cooperation Kirill Dmitriev stated that a “realistic solution” to the war is on the table. According to him, the Russian Federation’s position in the so-called “settlement” is “clear and consistent.” In particular, he cynically stated that Ukraine must withdraw from Donbas.
