In Russia, accusations have been leveled against the West. The Federation Council has declared a “new phase of war” allegedly initiated against the Russian Federation by Western politicians.
This cynical statement was voiced by the head of the Federation Council’s committee on information policy, Alexei Pushkov, to propaganda media.
The Russian politician dislikes that the West is supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles for strikes on Russian territory. Furthermore, he accuses European politicians of allegedly providing Kyiv with their airspace for attacks on the Russian Federation.
“The West is moving into a new phase of war against the Russian Federation… The line between the proxy war of NATO countries with Russia and direct war is beginning to blur,” Pushkov stated indignantly.

Russia is harshly rejecting peace proposals offered by the West and Ukraine. The Kremlin is presenting new ultimatum-like conditions. According to the American ISW, such statements indicate Putin’s lack of interest in ending the war.
The day before, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov voiced a new vision of “peace.” He brazenly continues to insist on the diplomatic achievement of the “SVO” goals, however, this includes demands and ultimatums.
