The large-scale strike on Ukraine, particularly on Kyiv, on the night of June 2, allegedly marks a “new paradigm” in Russia’s military efforts.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the Russian “führer,” Dmitry Peskov.
He brazenly blamed Ukraine for this, claiming it carries out terrorist attacks. Peskov, following the Kremlin’s mouthpieces, mentioned the alleged strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Starobilsk. Moscow cynically claims that Kyiv “itself decided to give the conflict a new quality.”
In his statement, the representative of the Kremlin master, following the Ministry of Defense, mendaciously reported that during the attack, the Russian Federation only struck military infrastructure. However, he said nothing about strikes on residential buildings, where Russian missiles and drones kill civilians.

On the night of May 2, the Russian army carried out a massive strike on Kyiv and Dnipro. Civilians died in the cities. In particular, six people died in the capital, and 12 in the regional center, including two children.
It should be noted that on the night of May 24, **Russia also carried out a massive strike on Kyiv.** Moscow claimed it carried out the attack “in response” to the alleged shelling of a college in the occupied Luhansk region. However, ISW analysts emphasized that this justification does not align with Russia’s historical behavior pattern.
After this attack, **new loud statements were heard from Russia.** In particular, Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, impudently stated that “Kyiv itself asked for retaliatory strikes.”
