Moscow has once again begun to threaten the use of the Union State military treaty.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Serhiy Lavrov, stated during a speech at an ambassadorial roundtable that the statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding Belarus are dangerous.
This is reported by Russian media.
According to the Russian official, the Ukrainian leader’s warnings about the use of Belarusian infrastructure and equipment for strikes on Ukraine are an attempt to expand the scale of the confrontation.
“This is clearly aimed at directly involving Belarus in the conflict and expanding the geography of hostilities, thereby complicating the possibilities for resolving the conflict by political and diplomatic means,” he cynically commented.
The Russian minister did not clarify why Ukraine’s defensive statements should be a reason for Minsk’s involvement in hostilities, but accused Kyiv of deliberately destroying peaceful prospects.
To reinforce his words, Lavrov decided to remind the international community of the military obligations to Alexander Lukashenko’s regime. He emphasized that there are clear legal agreements in the defense sphere between Moscow and Minsk.
According to him, Russia considers any steps regarding Belarus as a direct threat to its own interests on the geopolitical arena.
“Since March 2025, a treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on security guarantees within the framework of the Union State has been in force,” recalled the official of the aggressor country.
Concluding his speech, he moved on to “traditional” threats, noting that the Kremlin is ready to use all available resources in case of a change in the situation on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.
Moscow is trying to create the impression that any response from Ukraine to threats from the northern direction will receive a harsh reaction from the Russian army.
“And if necessary, we are ready to take the entire set of measures provided for by the treaty to guarantee the security of our ally and, of course, the security of the Union State,” summarized the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Zelensky issued an ultimatum to Lukashenko
Recall that on June 19, Volodymyr Zelensky issued an ultimatum to Lukashenko. He demands an immediate cessation of assistance to Russia in adjusting strikes on Ukrainian cities. The Belarusian regime was given exactly one week to comply.
On June 20, Zelensky again issued a warning to the Belarusian authorities.
Yesterday, the head of state again sharply addressed Lukashenko and stated that “he should keep the apologies for himself.”
