Long-range strikes on Russian territory directly limit the aggressor state’s ability to continue the war against Ukraine, as they force Russian society to feel the consequences of combat operations in their own daily lives.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following the results of the Stavka meeting held on Friday, July 3.
According to him, the implementation of Ukraine’s “long-range sanctions” and “medium-range sanctions” plan has proven that limiting Russia’s ability to wage war directly depends on how widespread the feeling becomes among Russian social groups that the war directly affects their daily lives.
The head of state emphasized that Ukraine will not deviate from its chosen course.
“Ukraine will continue the policy of increasing the price of occupation for the occupier, limiting Russia’s ability to finance the war,” he stated.
Zelenskyy separately drew attention to the successes of the Ukrainian defense industry, noting that this was one of the key issues discussed during the Stavka meeting.
“An important achievement of our state and our arms manufacturers: Ukraine has reached the capacity to produce such a volume of technological weapons that can long-term surpass Russian capabilities. Today, this is what we have paid the most attention to,” said the president.
According to him, during the meeting, there was also direct communication with arms manufacturers regarding the support they need from the state.
“We also spoke with the manufacturers themselves about what is needed from the state, from administrative decisions, from financing, to maximize all types of Ukrainian capabilities and ensure deep formats of pressure on Russia, on its capabilities at the front, as well as on its ability to prolong the war,” Zelenskyy noted.
Recall that on June 25, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a meeting with the head of the SBU, Major General Yevheniy Hmara, approved a 40-day operation to influence the aggressor state, aimed at compelling Russia to end the war.
