The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are slated to return to the United Kingdom by the end of this month. This follows their decision in 2020 to step back from their roles as working royals and relocate to the United States. They have since resided in Montecito with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
King Charles III was recently apprised of the Sussexes’ intentions and reportedly welcomes the prospect of spending more time with his son and his family. This update comes via Hello Magazine.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are returning to Britain
As per the 2020 agreement, Harry and Meghan will maintain their status as private citizens and non-working members of the royal family; no alternative arrangement was offered to the couple.
The Prince of Wales, William, and the Princess of Wales, Kate, have also been informed of the Sussexes’ plans. The couple has already enrolled their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in British educational institutions, with the academic term commencing in September.
While the specific location of their accommodation remains undisclosed, it is confirmed they will reside outside of London in a non-royal dwelling. The Sussexes intend to retain their property in Montecito, and Meghan plans to continue managing her brand, As Ever, from the UK.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s most recent visit to the United Kingdom was in 2022, for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. This occurred two years after they announced their intention to move to the US and relinquish their working royal duties.
The monarch’s younger son has previously expressed to the BBC his desire for reconciliation and reunification with his family.
