Russia, the aggressor that continues to wage war in Ukraine, is responsible for violations of Estonia’s airspace. At the same time, Ukrainian strikes on Russian infrastructure should persist.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna, in an interview with “Ukrinform.”

“We may see more and more similar incidents. These are side effects of Russia’s war of aggression. Now Russia is deliberately ‘pushing’ these drones into NATO territory, spreading a fake narrative that NATO, we – the Baltic states and Finland – officially allow Ukraine to use our territory for these attacks. This is not true,” the minister emphasized.

According to him, the responsibility lies with Moscow, and the world must understand this. The “führer” of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, seeks to force NATO countries to pressure Ukraine to stop strikes on Russian territory. However, Tsahkna added, “the issue is not with Ukraine, but with Russia.”

“Putin always plays on this fear of escalation. He wants to show that the Baltic states and this part of NATO will be drawn into the war. I can say that no one questions Ukraine’s right to attack targets deep in the Russian rear,” emphasized the head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry.

Although Tsahkna advocated for the continuation of Ukrainian drone strikes on targets in Russia, he also urged Ukraine to be cautious due to the deviation of the drones.

“We would like Ukraine to be more careful regarding borders, but if you strike the ‘lifelines’ of the Russian military machine in Ust-Luga, St. Petersburg, and others – it is very close to our borders. Putin is deeply concerned because almost 60% of gas and oil exports go through these ports. Therefore, Ukraine must continue,” stated Margus Tsahkna.

Threat to the Baltic States – what is known

Recently, **Moscow openly threatened Latvia** with a “retaliatory strike” allegedly because Riga is helping Ukraine. The Kremlin claims that “Kyiv convinced Riga” to launch drones for attacks on the Russian Federation from Latvia. Furthermore, Moscow also accuses Estonia and Lithuania of this.

Informed Reuters sources stated that **NATO is preparing to repel an attack on the Baltic states**. The Alliance will strengthen its defense in the east and create a new structure to quickly redeploy troops to Latvia and Estonia in the event of a war with Russia.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that **Russia’s accusations against the Baltic states** are “concerning” due to “fears of escalation.” According to him, Washington is closely monitoring the situation and will cooperate with NATO allies depending on its development.
